one of the most popular tourist attractions in prague. charles bridge is located between mala strana and stare mesto. length 516m. built in 1357, by charles IV, who decided to start the project on a very specific date: 1357, july the 9th, 5:31am. this line of odd numbers 135797531 and a proper stars relations were a sign of future importance of the bridge. on both ends of the bridge are high tower, the bridge itself is an avenue with figures of saints.

for the curious, there is a very similar bridge in poland, klodzko.

prague astronomical clock, also known as prague orloy (orloj) was first built in 1410. it is third oldest astronomical clock in the world, the only one which still works. every hour, there are figures of 12 apostles appearing over the clock and the trumpeter plays a short melody. i am pretty sure, orloy is one of the crowdiest places in prague, with all the tourists waiting for the apostles to apprear. i think it is a third crowdiest attraction in prague, after the castle and charles bridge
